Add Products

Create products to sell from your Ghost blog.

Creating a product

Everything starts here. Five steps and you have something to sell.

  1. Go to Products in your dashboard
  2. Click New product
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Name - the product title
    • Description - supports rich text formatting
    • Price - set in your store currency
    • Images - upload product photos (up to 5GB total storage)
  4. Configure inventory and shipping settings
  5. Click Create product

The Live / Draft toggle at the top of the editor controls whether shoppers can see the product. Draft products stay hidden from your shop until you flip them to Live.

Product variants

One product, several options. Variants cover things like size or colour without a separate listing for each.

Add a few by hand

For a handful of options, add them one at a time:

  1. Scroll to the Variants section
  2. Click Add variant
  3. Enter a variant name (e.g. "Large", "Blue")
  4. Optionally set a different price, SKU, and stock for this variant

Build options and generate the grid

When a product comes in several colours and sizes, define the options once and let Mytho create every combination for you.

  1. In the Variants section, add an option and name it (Size, Colour, or anything you like)
  2. Type each value and press Enter (S, M, L for a size option)
  3. Add another option if you need one
  4. Click Generate variants

You get a row for every combination, ready to set price, SKU, and stock. Regenerate after adding a value and the combinations you already had keep their price, stock, and images.

Colour swatches

Name an option Colour, or flip the Colour toggle on any option, and each value becomes a swatch picker: a colour square beside a hex field, the same control the storefront editor uses. Pick the colour a shopper sees for each value, or paste an exact hex. Your shop then shows that option as round colour swatches instead of plain buttons.

Variant images

Click the image tile on a variant row to map one of your product photos to it. When a shopper picks that variant in your shop, the gallery swaps to its photo.

Inventory management

Track what you have and get a nudge before you run out.

  • Track inventory - toggle on to enable stock tracking
  • Stock quantity - the number of units available
  • Low stock threshold - get alerted when stock drops below this number
  • Made to order - mark products that are produced on demand

Digital products

Selling a PDF, an album, or a piece of software? Set the product up as a download.

  1. Create a product and set the type to Digital
  2. Upload a file or enter a URL
  3. Set the Download limit (default: 5 downloads)
  4. Set the Expiry period (default: 30 days)

The moment payment clears, the customer gets a secure download link. Weight and shipping fields disappear for digital products, since a PDF doesn't need a courier.

Ordering your shop

You decide what shoppers see first. On the Products list, click Shop order to see your products exactly as the storefront serves them, with move up and down arrows on each row. Nudge a product up the list and your shop updates to match.

The arrows only show on the full, unfiltered list. Clear any search or filter first, since reordering half a list would be guesswork.

Tags

Tags organize your products and let customers filter your shop. See Tags & Filtering for the details.
